4 Nights 5 Days Kashmir Tour Package from Sri Lanka
A perfect budget-friendly Kashmir holiday from Sri Lanka covering Dal Lake, Gulmarg and Pahalgam with hotels, sightseeing and private transfers.
Get Best PriceBook a Kashmir tour package built for how travellers from Colombo, Kandy, Galle and the rest of Sri Lanka actually get to the valley — with fixed land pricing, verified hotels and houseboats, and a route plan that starts from the one fact that shapes every Sri Lanka–Kashmir trip: there's no direct flight into Srinagar from the island, so the smart move is picking the right Indian gateway city and letting us handle everything from your arrival in Kashmir onward. SriLankan Airlines alone flies non-stop out of Bandaranaike International Airport to nine Indian cities, which gives you more routing choice than most departure countries get, and a same-day onward domestic connection gets most of our Sri Lankan travellers into Srinagar well within a single day of leaving home. Everything below is here to help you pick the right gateway and lock in your package with confidence.

15+ years of experience | Kashmir Tour Provider, a unit of Indo Tours & Adventures | Based year-round in Srinagar, Kashmir
Verified Local ExpertWe run 4N/5D through 7N/8D Kashmir packages priced in Indian Rupees, and every package comes with a fixed land price, a verified hotel or houseboat, private cab transfers within Kashmir, and one point of contact from your Srinagar arrival to your drop-off. Our lean 4N/5D packages start at ₹12,999–₹16,500 per person (roughly USD 150–190, or LKR 46,000–58,000 at current exchange rates). Our most-booked bracket — the 6N/7D or 7N/8D route most families and honeymooners pick — runs roughly ₹20,000–₹30,000 per person (about USD 230–345). If you'd like a private vehicle throughout, curated add-ons and a night or two on a premium houseboat, our luxury packages start at ₹45,000 and go up to ₹1,90,000+ per person. This land price is always separate from your Colombo–India airfare, and your exact fare depends on travel dates, hotel category and group size — call, WhatsApp or email us and we'll confirm your number within 24 hours.
Sri Lanka's position is worth understanding before you book flights: unlike travellers from many countries who first have to reach a single Indian gateway, SriLankan Airlines already flies you non-stop into Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Madurai and Tiruchirappalli, so the real decision is which of those cities gets you onto the best connecting flight or train into Srinagar or Jammu. We factor your travel dates against all of these options before confirming your booking — more on how that plays out below.
| Field | Data Point |
|---|---|
| Air distance (Colombo–Srinagar) | ~3,000–3,050 km (straight line) |
| Realistic journey | Colombo → an Indian gateway city (non-stop) → connecting domestic flight, or overnight train, into Srinagar |

| Best gateway for speed & frequency | Delhi — widest choice of onward Srinagar flights, roughly 9–16 direct Delhi–Srinagar departures a day |
| Best gateway for shortest first hop | Chennai — SriLankan Airlines covers Colombo–Chennai in around 1 hr 20 min, the shortest leg of any Indian gateway |
| SriLankan Airlines' India network | Non-stop to Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Madurai and Tiruchirappalli — nine cities |
| Colombo–Delhi flight time | Roughly 3 hrs 30 min non-stop |
| Delhi–Srinagar onward leg | Domestic flight, roughly 1 hr 20–1 hr 40 min, operated multiple times daily |

| Popular destinations | Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonmarg |

Every Kashmir trip from Sri Lanka starts with a flight into an Indian gateway city followed by a domestic connection. SriLankan Airlines flies non-stop out of Bandaranaike International Airport to nine Indian cities.
| Gateway city | Colombo flight time | Why choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Delhi | ~3 hrs 30 min | The widest choice of onward Srinagar flights — typically 9–16 direct departures a day across IndiGo, Air India, Akasa and Vistara. |
| Chennai | ~1 hr 20 min | The shortest first hop of any gateway, with frequent onward connections to Srinagar (usually via Delhi or Mumbai) |
| Mumbai | ~2 hrs 45 min–3 hrs | Strong onward frequency to Srinagar and a useful alternative if Delhi fares are running high on your dates |
| Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum | ~2–3 hrs | Workable alternatives with somewhat thinner onward Srinagar connections. |
| Aspect | Detail |
|---|---|
| Non-stop Colombo–Delhi flights | Operated daily by SriLankan Airlines, Air India and IndiGo |
| Non-stop Colombo–Chennai flights | Operated multiple times daily by SriLankan Airlines and IndiGo, the shortest hop of any gateway |
| Onward Delhi–Srinagar flight duration | Roughly 1 hr 20 min–1 hr 40 min |
| Total door-to-door time via Delhi | Roughly 8–10 hours including a realistic connection window and airport formalities on both ends |
| Booking tip | Fares on the Colombo–India sector move with the season — booking three to four weeks ahead generally lands a noticeably better price. |
If you'd rather break up the journey or want the experience of the newly completed rail line into the valley, you can fly Colombo–Delhi, then take a train down to Jammu Tawi and continue on the Vande Bharat Express, which covers the 269 km stretch to Srinagar via Katra, Reasi and Banihal in well under five hours. This service has run its full route since early May 2026, following completion of the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link, and crosses the Chenab Rail Bridge and the Anji Khad cable-stayed bridge along the way. It's a comfortable, scenic add-on rather than a faster option than flying all the way — most Sri Lankan travellers who choose it are doing so for the journey itself, or to combine it with a Vaishno Devi stop at Katra.
Whether you've connected through Delhi, Chennai or another gateway, plan your Colombo departure so you land in Srinagar by early-to-mid afternoon, and keep the rest of the day light — rest, let your body adjust, and end with a relaxed sunset Shikara ride on Dal Lake.
Spend the morning at Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh, then explore the old city and Hazratbal Shrine after lunch. Srinagar sits at roughly 1,585 m — a real contrast from Colombo's sea-level warmth — so an unhurried first couple of days helps you acclimatise before heading higher.
The drive covers about 56 km and takes 1.5–2 hours. At 2,650 m, Gulmarg is higher than anywhere most Sri Lankan travellers have been before, so pace yourself for the first hour or two and watch for headache, breathlessness or nausea.
The drive south runs roughly 90–100 km (2.5–3 hours) along the Lidder River, with stops built in at Betaab Valley and Aru Valley.
A pony ride up to Baisaran Valley — often called "Mini Switzerland" — anchors the day. If altitude has been treating you well, add on a half-day excursion to Chandanwari, which sits above 3,200 m.
Return to a night aboard a Dal Lake houseboat. A quiet cup of Kahwa on deck as the lake settles is the ideal way to close the day.
Drive to Sonmarg (roughly 80 km, about 2 hours) to see Thajiwas Glacier and Zero Point, then head back to Srinagar for your onward flight to Delhi or Chennai and connection back to Colombo. Budget a generous airport buffer at each leg of the return journey, since you're clearing a domestic transfer and an international one on the same day.
Travelling out of Colombo means routing through an Indian gateway first, but SriLankan Airlines' unusually wide network across nine Indian cities gives you real choice in how you make that connection — and once you land in Srinagar, everything else is on us.

The 7-day trip to Kashmir and Delhi (Agra) was truly an unforgettable experience. I had the opportunity to witness the breathtaking beauty of Srinagar's Dal Lake, Gulmarg, Sonmarg, and Pahalgam—views so stunning that even my eyes felt insufficient to capture them.
